I'm new into the Sim Racing world and I didn't want to spend almost $1000 on a sim cock pit.
When I found RigMetal, their price for the Basic Sim was too hard to look anywhere else.
The kit is modular, you can add on any accessory at any point AFTER you finish your build, so you don't have to disassemble it to bolt on accessories.
Instructions were clear, but I had one small QC issue: My kit didn't have any labeling on the extrusions so I couldn't know what lengths I needed for the step I was working on. I had to compare pics of built rigs with what I was building. The instructions showed colored dots that correspond with the length of extrusions. I was missing the colored dots. I still managed to get it together though in a few hours and it is SOLID. It's a very rigid chassis.
I'm not building another cockpit unless it's RigMetal. And no, I'm not a bot or paid reviewer. I'm a real person lol.
Great cockpit for a great price. Set aside a quiet afternoon to build it.
Best purchase i could've possibly made for the further enjoyment of this hobby. Its sturdy, sleek, compatible with everything i need + more, and it's surprisingly compact enough to fit pretty much anywhere in my home. the price to product ratio is better than another reputable brand i could find. 100/100 quality product worth buying.
Insane Bang for your buck
Even with the updated instructions, it was a little difficult to assemble. The pieces are color coded in the instructions, but not out of the box. Once it's assembled though, this thing is absolutely rock solid. I use a 12nm Simagic Alpha Evo, and I don't feel even the slightest bit of flex. I imagine 20+nm would be perfectly fine with the Basic. I wish the pedal deck had more tilt adjustment without sacrificing the shifter mount. But I knew that going in. All in all, I dont think you can find a better aluminum profile rig in the US at a better price. Very happy with my purchase.
