Awesome rig, fast/cheap shipping, clear instructions, and extra hardware - what more could one ask for? Paired it with the triple monitor stand and I’m stoked on my purchase.
Pretty straightforward to assemble, left with enough spare pieces to either modify the setup or attach something else.
Good quality, only two issues:
First, one of the 80mm gussets had paint covering up one hole out of 4. Not a big deal, just turned a drill bit through it with bare hands.
Second, probably more important, but also not really an issue - the universal plate does not match all the bottom holes on Moza R5 base - the width is correct, but the "depth" between holes doesn't match. Either requires some different plate (could mount the base to 8040 profile directly without base plate then) or just ignore it, R5 is relatively weak and I've been using it with two bolts only out of 4, no issues so far.
It is hard to include mount points for absolutely everything and I understand that cockpits are usually bought for stronger bases (I want to upgrade soon), so it's not really a minus either.
Instructions are lacking. If the parts had color coded stickers like they do in the instructions it would save a significant amount of time. Build quality seems great.
Solid Affordable Cockpit.
This thing is great, has all the adjustments I could ask for, and is very solid all around. It's basically everything I thought I was getting and then some.
If I could make improvements they would be the following.
1. Actually have colored stickers on the parts to make the assembly process easier, as my parts did not have any.
2. Include or add the option to buy a shifter and handbrake mount plate.
3. Add an arm for the mouse tray.
Not having a shifter/handbrake mount plate and having the mouse tray mounted along the shifter bar instead of an arm, like the kayboard tray, led to issues mounting my handbrake and shifter in a comfortable position.
Overall I would consider my issues to be relatively minor and for the price, this is probably the best cockpit on the market.
Great quality, fast shipping and great support. You can’t find a better rig for the money. Came in two packages. The instructions on the website made assembly a breeze. The RigMetal plus has absolutely zero flex and unlimited customization. 10/10
